VoiceShelf Terms of Service
Version 2026-10-28 · Last updated: 28 October 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Vydeesh Reddy Pendru, an individual developer in India who publishes apps under the name AllBlue (a brand name, not a registered company) ("we", "us"), about using VoiceShelf. Please read them with our Community Guidelines, which are part of these terms, and our Privacy Policy, which explains what we do with your information. You accept these terms when you create an account.
1. Who can use VoiceShelf
You must be 18 or older. One account per person. Don't use VoiceShelf if the law where you live doesn't allow you to.
2. Your account
You sign up with an email address and a password, and choose a username. Your username is permanent and other people can see it, with your bio. Keep your password to yourself: anyone who has it can use your account. Your password also opens recordings kept only on your phone if you ever can't sign in. Tell us at support@voiceshelf.app if you think someone else is using your account.
3. What you can do
- Record stories in your own voice, up to 15 minutes each, and listen back before saving.
- Keep a recording only on your phone, or upload it.
- Choose who can listen to each uploaded recording, and change it later:
- Private — only you;
- Close-knit — the people in your close-knit group, chosen from your followers;
- Followers — people you have approved to follow you;
- Public — anyone using VoiceShelf, including people who don't follow you.
- Follow people (they approve every request), like recordings and write comments.
- Send a question to your followers and invite them to answer in their own voice ("Prompt Requests").
- Share a link to a recording you can hear. A link never lets anyone hear more than the recording's "who can listen" already allows, and private recordings can't be shared.
- Export your own recordings, and delete your account.
You can't download other people's recordings in VoiceShelf. Don't try to get around that, for example by recording their audio with another app to publish it.
4. Your content
Your content is what you create in VoiceShelf: recordings, titles and captions, comments, questions you send, and your bio.
- You're responsible for it. It must follow these terms and the Community Guidelines.
- Who sees it follows your choices: a recording's "who can listen", your comments to everyone who can hear that recording, a question you send to the person you send it to.
- Questions you send are shown to the person who receives them. Their answer is their own recording and they choose who hears it; asking doesn't let you hear it. If they share the answer, it shows your question, not your name.
- Comments on someone's recording can be removed by its owner.
5. You own your content — the permission you give us
You keep ownership of your content. So that we can run VoiceShelf, you give us permission to store, copy, process and transmit it, and to show and play it to the people you choose, only to provide and protect the service and only for as long as it stays on VoiceShelf (and, after you delete it, for the limited time described in the Privacy Policy — for example in backups, or held as evidence for a report). We don't sell your content and don't show ads.
You confirm you have the right to post what you post, including the voices and stories of anyone else in it (see the Community Guidelines on consent).
6. Respecting other people
Follow the Community Guidelines. In short: no harassment, threats, hate, sexual content, impersonation, spam or scams, nothing that harms children, and no sharing other people's private information or recording them without their permission.
7. Reports, blocking and moderation
You can report a recording, a comment, a profile or a question you received, and block anyone. Blocking is not announced to the person you block. Reports are reviewed by us or by people we authorise to help with moderation, who may listen to reported recordings. We don't review content before it's posted and we don't monitor all content, so please report what breaks the rules.
When something breaks these terms or the Guidelines, we may remove it, suspend the account for a time, stop it from signing in, or close it. For serious cases — such as a threat to someone's safety or harm to a child — we may keep evidence and report it to the authorities where the law requires it.
If you break the law using VoiceShelf, you may face penalties under that law. Where the law requires us to report an offence — for example under India's Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act — we will report it to the authorities.
If you think we made a mistake, write to safety@voiceshelf.app.
8. Suspension and closing accounts
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Guidelines, or when the law requires it, and we may do so without notice where giving notice could put someone at risk. A suspended account can't sign in while the suspension lasts. A closed account's content is deleted as if you had deleted it yourself, except what we must keep as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Keeping your recordings — please read
We work to keep your recordings and the service available, but we can't promise that VoiceShelf or any recording will always be available, or that the service will continue forever. Recordings kept only on your phone aren't on our service: if the phone or the app's data is lost, we can't get them back. Export copies of anything you want to keep (Profile → Account → Export my recordings).
10. Deleting your account and your content
- You can delete a recording or a comment at any time.
- You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Account → Delete account) or on our account-deletion page. Your profile disappears at once and your uploaded recordings, comments and other content are then deleted — the Privacy Policy says exactly what is deleted, what is kept for a limited time (such as backups and evidence for reports) and for how long.
- Recordings kept only on a phone stay on that phone until you delete them there.
You can stop using VoiceShelf at any time.
11. Changes
We may change VoiceShelf and these terms. If we change these terms or the Community Guidelines in a way that matters, the app will ask you to accept the new version before you go on using it. Without accepting, you can still export your recordings and delete your account from that screen. If you don't agree, you can delete your account.
12. Legal
VoiceShelf is a free service provided by an individual, "as is". To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, or for recordings lost because no copy was kept (see §9).
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Nothing in them takes away rights you have under the law where you live that can't be given up by agreement.
